So of course I had heard of the famous Nyx shine loud lipstick and fell in love with it. At east, at first. See, the problem is not the claims of it being able to stay on for 16 hours or being transfer-proof. It actually was able to hold quite well for a while, better than a few other lipsticks I’ve tried.
Another fun thing I’ve found is that since the lip gloss is one of the few that doesn’t dissolve the lipstick under it, I had to put glitter in it.
I put Nyx’s loose glitter into the lip gloss side of this product, and my goodness does it improve the result.
Which makes the problems with the lipstick part so much worse.
The problem comes twofold, and both are with the lipstick’s formula.
When reapplied, it does not layer well. It crumbles, crusts, and flakes horribly when touching up, which is what it needs in the middle after an oil-heavy meal.
Unfortunately, the Shine Loud also has the problem of splitting on a wide smile after a few hours.

I’ve tried applying while smiling, as I thought the problem was not enough product being on the hidden lines of my lips. Nope. It still splits even with only talking and drinking water. After a meal, though it was not transferring, if I smiled too eagerly, the whole color split like a sister location animatronic.

Finish: Glossy at first, fades to satin/matte.
Feeling: Feels glossy when gloss is applied, feels satiny as the gloss absorbs into the lipstick. After a while, it will fade to the sticky matte feeling without replying the gloss.
One Swipe: Full color
Layering: Crumbly after drying
Pros:
Wide color options
Lip gloss able to be modified with glitter and used with other lipsticks
Actually, transfer-proof, at least 97%
Doe foot applicator makes application quick and easy
One swipe color payoff is impressive
Holds on pretty well after a tough meal
Dries quick
The lip gloss sinks into the lipstick, and helps it feel slippery instead of sticky for a while after applying.
Cons:
Can break down in the middle after oily foods
Splits with smiling in a few hours, no matter what you do.
Does not layer well after drying
Sometimes decides to flake instead of setting properly
Fades to a rough crumble finish often.
Will not keep gloss finish for the entire time wearing it
Overall a 8/10, but still a bit disappointing after all the hype.
